Actor “Lee Thompson Young” dies at age 29
LOS ANGELES - Former Disney star Lee Thompson Young was found dead of an apparently self-inflicted gunshot in his North Hollywood apartment Monday, sources told the Daily News.
Young, 29, was best known for his leading role in the Disney series “The Famous Jett Jackson.”
He was found unresponsive with a bullet wound to the head by Los Angeles cops about 9 a.m., a law enforcement source told the News.
Cops were called to do a welfare check after Young missed a call time on the set of his current show, the TNT police drama “Rizzoli & Isles,” the source said.
"It is with great sadness that I announce that Lee Thompson Young tragically took his own life this morning," his longtime manager Jonathan Baruch said in a statement.
"Lee was more than just a brilliant young actor. He was a wonderful and gentle soul who will be truly missed," Baruch said. "We ask that you please respect the privacy of his family and friends as this very difficult time."
